BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital and health system, now has an important opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Obstetrician & Gynecologist to direct the Division of Gynecology. The OB/GYN Department has 29 faculty members, 14 midwives, 5 NPs, 3 PAs and 18 residents providing 70,000 outpatient visits annually with subspecialists present onsite, including gynecological oncology (1), female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (2), minimally invasive gynecological surgery and robotics (1), reproductive endocrinology and infertility (1), and maternal fetal medicine (3). The gyn service is very busy with a dedicated ambulatory suite exclusively for gyn in addition to block time availability every day of the week in the main OR.

It has all the necessary ancillary services to provide good patient care and support the resident’s learning experience. Lincoln Hospital has contracted with PAGNY (Physician Affiliate Group of New York) to provide physician management services at Lincoln.
  • The SBH internal medicine residency program is fully ACGME-accredited and has a long history of training extremely skilled internal medicine physicians. We are fully committed to maintaining this high level of excellence in training for future generations of primary care internists, hospitalists and subspecialists.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are accepted from graduates of MD and DO programs, and from graduates of equivalent medical programs.

To ensure that the process of selecting residents is consistent with guidelines established by the ACGME. This Program has the following eligibility requirements

Applicants must document compliance with one of the following:

  1. Graduate from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accredited medical school;
    Graduate from an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited college of osteopathic medicine; or
  2. Foreign medical graduate holding a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate; or hold a full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. licensing jurisdiction; or successfully complete a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME- accredited medical school.
  3. Application Process

Applications are accepted for a four-year program, which includes a categorical psychiatry internship followed by three years of post-internship training.

Interview Process

Interviews are scheduled on Monday to Friday, between the months of October to January. The Residency Program’s Office will contact all applicants accepted for interviews.

The interviews are conducted in a single day – applicants should plan to spend most of the day until 3pm. Candidates interview with at least two faculty members and the Chief Resident, and then there is a tour of the hospital, followed by attendance of a didactic activity.
